Lindsay Creek

Lindsay Creek is located within Nez Perce County, Idaho and is a tributary to the Clearwater River (Figure 1). The watershed encompasses approximately 14,200 acres. Lindsay Creek flows in a northwest direction from its headwaters at Mann Lake joining with the Clearwater River near Lewiston, Idaho.

Three plans identify watershed resource treatment needs: 2019 TMDL Agricultural Implementation Plan for Agriculture, 2015 Lindsay Creek Stream Inventory and Assessment and 2015 Lindsay Creek Road Erosion Inventory and Assessment.

Watershed Improvement Needs:

The following needs were identified from the three planning documents.:

  • Decrease Sediment Load by 70%
  • Reduce Water Temperature to 16 degrees Celsius
  • Decrease Bacteria Load by 66%
  • Decrease Nutrient Loading by 72%
  • Replace and / or improve 20 road culverts
  • Stabilize 14 miles of roads
  • Improve 54 miles of streams identified as poor or fair condition
  • Plant trees along 6 miles of perennial streams
  • Reduce streambank erosion along 23 miles of perennial, intermittent and ephemeral streams
