Resource Conservation and Rangeland Development and Loan Program

Purpose: To provide grants and loans to assist eligible applicants in implementing resource management projects, which include but are not limited to:

• Conserving soil and water resources
• Promoting efficient and beneficial use of Idaho state water resources through implementation of Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDL’s)
• Improving riparian areas for multiple use
• Increasing productivity of croplands, pasture, rangelands, and woodlands
• Conserving and improving fish and wildlife habitat

Special Emphasis: Lands in 303 (d) listed watersheds

Water Quality Program for Agriculture

Purpose: To assist with the implementation of agricultural best management practices to reduce sedimentation, nutrient loading, soil erosion and improve soil health.

Special Emphasis: Areas or sources of agricultural pollution identified as having the most significant impact on water quality.

Water Quality Program for Agriculture – Animal Feeding Operation

Purpose: To install riparian and livestock feeding operation conservation practices to reduce sediment, bacteria and nutrient delivery to Tammany, Bedrock, and Lapwai Creeks.

Special Emphasis: To supplement other federal, state, and District funding to accelerate installation of essential Best Management Practices (BMP’s) for animal feeding operations and associated practice and critical riparian areas.
