Fish Habitat

Fish habitat is limited by high stream temperatures and lack of woody debris in the stream channel. The priority areas which need treatment are located along perennial (figure 1) and intermittent (figure 2) streams.

6 miles of perennial streams need tree planting along the stream corridor in order to provide shade for cooler water temperatures, remove excess nutrients and reduce streambank erosion.

23 miles of intermittent streams need tree planting along the stream in order to retain water and provide shade to cool the stream, remove nutrients, and reduce streambank erosion.
