Forest Land Workshop

The Forestlands workshop is designed for forest landowners in the Sweetwater Creek, Mission Creek, Lapwai Creek and surrounding Nez Perce County areas who want to learn about managing their forestlands and reduce wildfire risk.

The workshop will be held on
Tuesday, October 29, 2019
from 5 to 7:30 PM.
The event will be held at the Lewiston Brammer Building at
1225 Idaho Street in Lewiston, Idaho.

The workshop is sponsored by the Nez Perce Soil and Water Conservation District and is funded in part by the Idaho Department of Lands in cooperation with the USDA Forest Service.

The first 15 registrants will receive 50 ponderosa pine trees and must be present at the workshop to receive the trees!

Attendees will:

  • Learn about forest land wildfire risks and activities in the Sweetwater, Mission, Lapwai and Nez Perce County areas.
  • Learn how to identify and control orange hawkweed and spotted knapweed in your forest!
  • Learn about programs available to assist you in managing your forestlands
  • Learn about forest management techniques
  • Meet the local experts in forest management!

6:30 PM Forestland Weeds—Hawkweed, Knapweed Control Overview—Chip Haight, Lewis County Weed Superintendent

6:45 PM Fuel Reduction and Forest Wildfire Concerns—Nez Perce County Wildfire Management Cooperative Working Group
